Linda Huffine joined Threshold Ministry as a part time ministry assistant in March 2021.  She provides guests with resources, information and appointments and is the “voice” of the ministry phone line.  Linda enjoys getting to know our ministry guests personally and trying to provide them with the services and assistance they need. Her greatest desire in coming to the Atlanta metro area was to make a difference in the lives of the many unhoused people she saw in our community and she am very grateful to do that at Decatur Presbyterian.

Prior to her work with Threshold Ministry, LInda had a long career for over 3 decades in teaching and as a reading specialist with Title I programs in VA and NC.  She currently works part-time as a reading specialist with LaAmistad Inc. helping English Language Learners at Shallowford Presbyterian church in their afterschool program there.  When not serving others at Threshold Ministry or LaAmistad, Linda enjoys cooking, gardening, bird watching,  & traveling to see friends, family and new places.

Linda,  is a native of Richmond, Virginia and has lived in Decatur since 2020 with her husband, David Huffine who works for Columbia Theological Seminary.  Linda and David have two adult daughters, and enjoy visiting them in Richmond, VA and Lakeland, FL to spend time with their new grandson and one on the way in summer 2024! Both Linda, David and daughter, Rebecca are ordained elders of the PCUSA.  Daughter, Suzanne was a PCUSA YAV in Belfast, N. Ireland. David and Linda are members of Bon Air Presbyterian church in Richmond VA and  affiliate members of DPC.   Linda is an active member of the Faith in Real Life Group on Mondays and enjoys helping with the Flower Guild and Memorial receptions in addition to her work with the ministry staff.
