Youth Ministry

Welcome to Youth Ministry at Decatur Presbyterian Church (DPC)

We strive to create a loving and welcoming environment for all youth seeking to explore their faith and build a relationship with God. Our youth ministry is an active community that provides a safe space for young people (6th to 12th grade) to learn, grow, and connect with one another.

At DPC all are welcome regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and how much, or how little, they believe. We encourage our youth to embrace their unique identities and talents, and to explore the many different ways that they can serve their community and make a positive impact on the world around them.

Faith is an ongoing journey that requires curiosity, exploration, and growth. We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment where all youth can grow their faith. We invite you and your family to join us on this journey, and to experience the joy and wonder of God through the DPC faith community.

DPC Youth is a community where we joyfully participate together in practicing and sharing God’s love.

DPC Youth’s vision for its graduating seniors is that they will:

  • Develop a relationship with God and knowledge of God’s love for them
  • Develop connectional relationships within the youth group and the church
  • Develop spiritual curiosity
  • Develop a foundational understanding of Christian beliefs that they can rely on
  • Develop leadership and ownership in DPC’s youth ministry
  • Engage in Christian service and be empowered to share their gifts and God’s love with others in their time with DPC Youth and as they continue on their faith journeys past high school.
