Our Story & Purpose

The mission of the Decatur Presbyterian Church community is to share Jesus Christ’s love for the world.

Decatur Presbyterian Church, a congregation of PCUSA, has been an integral part of the Decatur, GA community since 1825. We look forward in faith to our Bicentennial in 2025, serving our community and the world, and affirming our goal:

Every child of God – belonging, engaging, being transformed

Core Strategies

  1. Welcome and engage people of all ages and backgrounds in meaningful experiences of worship and faith formation
  2. Implement courageous outreach efforts that engage new people with the church community
  3. Care compassionately for those struggling with life circumstances, including those living on the margins of society
  4. Belonging-Intentionally build relationships within the church community
  5. Faithfully steward human, financial, and capital resources, inspiring generosity & sustainability among the congregation and community
